Exploring the structure of knits to reduce the impact of falls in relationship to the body.
Exaggerating the areas that need more protection. Challenging the traditional aesthetic of the silhouette, and pushing the potential of form in relation to the body.
Through the creation of an alternative aesthetic language for protective apparel, padding is added to the areas on the body that lack protection through the manipulation and hacking of knits to create materials and garments. This is done by knitting the material in shape. Protection and volume is added into the structure of garment through layers of knit creating pockets and folds that are filled with 3D printed silicone knits. Padding to protect the knees, hips, elbows and wrists.
Through movement and a new perspective on padded apparel, the body is free to explore movement, style and emotion.
